Based on data gathered from the National Center for Education Statistics, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and AcademicInfluence.com, Texas Online Colleges ranked accredited Texas public and private institutions based on seven criteria:

• Student-to-Faculty Ratio
• Number of Online Programs Offered
• Graduation Rate
• Retention Rate
• Percentage of Online Students
• Concentrated Influence (frequency of faculty cited in academic works)
• Desirability (percentage of accepted students who actually attend)

According to Texas Online Colleges, “The best value online colleges in Texas provide students with high-quality online degree programs and support at an affordable price point.”

Texas Online Colleges also ranked Angelo State No. 4 among the Most Affordable Online Colleges in Texas and No. 5 among the Top Hispanic-Serving Online Colleges and Universities in Texas.

ASU’s individual online degree programs that ranked in the top five of their respective categories for best value include three bachelor’s degrees and five master’s degrees. The top-ranked bachelor’s degrees include:

• No. 1 – Bachelor of Security Studies (B.S.S.) in intelligence and analysis
• No. 2 – B.S.S. in border and homeland security
• No. 2 – Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.)

The top-ranked ASU online master’s degrees include:

• No. 2 – Master of Science (M.S.) in applied psychology
• No. 2 – M.S. in homeland security
• No. 2 – M.S. in professional school counseling
• No. 5 – M.S. in criminal justice
