Printmaker to Exhibit Works at ASU

Angelo State University will present an exhibit of fine art prints by New Orleans-based printmaker Joseph Shores Aug. 27-Sept. 28 in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

Shores’ exhibit, titled “Fistula and Fissure,” will feature etchings and lithographs and will be on public display from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays in Room 193 of the EFA Building.   Shores will also present a gallery talk on his work at 4 p.m. on Sept. 26 in Room 101 of the EFA Building.  Both the exhibit and the lecture are open free to the public. 

An accomplished artist, Shores earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in visual art from the State University of New York-Buffalo, and his bachelor’s in studio art from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  Recently, he has participated in the Tamarind Professional Printer Training Program at the University of New Mexico, and was a workshop tutor at the Seacourt Printmaking Workshop in Bangor, Northern Ireland.  Shores’ work has also been featured widely in regional and national exhibitions.
