November 12, 2012

Angelo State University’s Department of Art and Music will present its semiannual Opera Music Theatre Workshop program on Friday, Nov. 16, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall and is open free to the public.  Opera scenes from “Don Giovanni and the Marriage of Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck, and “The Elixir of Love” by Gaetano Donizetti will be featured on the program.

The Opera Music Theatre Workshop is directed by Janeene Williams, ASU instructor of music.  The workshop offers ASU students the opportunity to gain stage experience while working on scenes and musical numbers taken from operas, operettas and musicals.
