ASU Prof Named to National Post

As treasurer, Sunderman will serve a two-year term and be responsible for transactions and examining the financial records and budgets prepared by the NASBITE staff at Cleveland State University. He has been a member of the organization’s Board of Governors since April of 2012.
A 26-year faculty member in the ASU Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Sunderman is active in study abroad programs and has presented or co-presented at NASBITE annual conferences on the European Union (EU) and study abroad topics. Presentations covered how the EU was formed, governance in the EU, single market/single currency and the EU transport policy. He has attended faculty conferences in Antwerp, Belgium, and Strasbourg, France, and has led ASU summer study abroad trips to Europe in 2009 and 2011. He teaches ASU courses on the EU and European culture, and will lead another study abroad trip to Europe this summer.
Formerly a professor of music, Sunderman has received teaching awards in both music and accounting. In 1978, he was named the Outstanding Music Professor at Texas A&M-Kingsville. In 2008, he was named Professor of the Year in the College of Business by the ASU Student Government Association, and the Outstanding Accounting Educator for small colleges and universities by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. In 2009, he received the Distinguished Faculty Award for the College of Business from the ASU Alumni Association.
Sunderman holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Bowling Green State University and both a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Professional Accountancy from Texas A&M-Kingsville.
