Lead Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Recreation)
Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Plans, coordinates, promotes, and conducts a variety of classes, trips, and clinics in support of outdoor adventure/aquatic operations and other recreation programs. Performs other duties as required.
Must have practical knowledge and/or experience of recreation activities. Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities and programs. Must be able to be certified as an instructor or guide in outdoor activities as the program requires (i.e., rafting, water safety instructor, etc.). Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Experience with a variety of office software is required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be physically able to frequently lift, handle, and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Occasionally may be required to lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to frequently stand, bend, stoop, crawl, and work in tight spaces. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a physical examination. Must complete Standard First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of assignment. Must be able to obtain Food Handlers Certificate. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). This is a Drug Testing Designated Position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
