Cook Helper- Recreation
Responsible for assisting Lead Cook within all functions of the food service daily operation to include but not limited to cooking, baking, distribution of meals cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and dining room area. Also, work with Kitchen Aides to pan food items to be delivered to satellite sites on time, and serving meals at main congregate site.
Responsible for all cooking duties in the absence of Lead Cook. Assist in producing a quality meal to assure meal is at proper temperature prior to serving and during serving time. Assist Lead Cook in assuring all needed food and supplies are ordered and available to use. Daily cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment so it is available for use the next day.
High School diploma or equivalent. Required knowledge of: Considerable knowledge of sanitation practice, food preparation, cooking baking, reading recipes and interpreting written cooking instructions. Required skill in: Following food recipes, preparing food for more than 100 people. Must be able to bend or stoop to retrieve supplies and equipment. Must be able to lift materials weighing 30 lbs., and be able to stand for long periods (4 to 6 hours a day). Required Licenses or Certifications: Food Handlers certification within 60 days of date of hire, and a valid driver license with a good driving record is required.
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.
