Students from the Honor’s Student Association and ROTC Detachment 847 provide valuable help with the recent book sale held by the Friends of the Porter Henderson Library and West Texas Collection.

Thanks to the tremendous outpouring of support from the Honor’s Student Association and the ROTC Detachment 847, over 265 large boxes of books made it to market for the annual Friends of the Library book sale January 23-25.  Braving the cold front, with temperatures dipping into the 20s and 30s, the students unloaded the merchandise in the early morning hours of the 23rd.  They sorted and set up the books down to the wire for the 4:00 opening.  The same group sacrificed a Saturday to pack the unsold books and assisted the Friends of the Tom Green County Library in transporting the boxes for use in the county library’s April sale.  Many thanks to these wonderful workers!  Job well done!  The Friends of the Library provide support for the ASU Library and West Texas Collection, award scholarships and furnish coffee and cookies during finals week.
