Spring ‘Discover ASU’ Activities Set for Feb. 5

Angelo State University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus on Saturday, Feb. 5, for “Discover ASU,” a day-long program designed to acquaint potential enrollees with the university and its numerous educational opportunities.

Discover ASU allows prospective students to visit campus and see what Angelo State has to offer in academic programs, facilities and opportunities for intellectual and personal growth.

Activities will begin with check-in at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, 2235 S. Jackson St. The general welcome session will begin at 10:30 a.m. to be followed at 11:15 a.m. by informational sessions covering how to select a major, pre-health professions, the pre-veterinary medicine program, the nursing program, the teacher education program, Air Force ROTC, the Studio I student drama group and the Honors Program.

Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. followed by a student organization and academic department fair from 12:30-2 p.m. in the Houston Harte University Center. Campus tours will also begin every 15 minutes from 12:30-2 p.m.

Discover ASU participants are also invited to attend the ASU Rams baseball game against Southwestern Oklahoma at 3 p.m. at Foster Field, or a free astronomy show, “Stars of the Pharaohs,” in the ASU Planetarium at 3 p.m. Both events are free to Discover ASU participants.
