ASU English Student to Present Paper at National Conference

March 03, 2010

Angelo State University English student Erin Whitford will present a paper at the Popular Culture Association and American Culture Association’s (PCA/ACA) Southern Literature and Popular Culture Conference in April in St. Louis.

Whitford, a first-year graduate student and graduate assistant in the ASU English Department, will present her paper, “An Addition to the Legacy: Joyce Carol Oates as the Successor to Carson McCullers and Flannery O’Connor’s Feminine Grotesque,” on a panel with three other presenters on April 3. The four were grouped because their papers have relevant overlaps.

Whitford submitted her paper to the group and was selected for the March 31-April 3 conference. Her departmental adviser is Dr. John Wegner, ASU associate professor of English.
