July 17, 2014

Angelo State University’s Master of Education degree in guidance and counseling has been ranked as one of the “10 Best Online Master’s in School Counseling Degree Programs” in the U.S. by TheBestSchools.org, an educational resource website that ranks degree programs in all disciplines.

One of four programs at Texas schools to make the list, ASU’s program ranked seventh overall. According to an official statement, “TheBestSchools.org selected Angelo State’s program based on several weighted factors, including academic excellence, course offerings, faculty strengths, and reputation, including reputation for online degree programs.”

Dr. John Miazga, dean of the ASU College of Education, said, “It is an honor to be recognized for the quality work of our faculty and staff. We strive to provide our students with high-quality programs that meet today’s work environment and the busy lives of our students. This recognition is a step in our quest to provide an opportunity for quality graduate education to all adult learners in an affordable and timely manner.”

The other Texas schools on the list are the University of Texas at Tyler, Lamar University and Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.
