Geyer Visits ASU and English Classes

Author Andrew Geyer visited ASU on September 3, sponsored by the Department of English and Modern Languages. He conducted discussions in an American literature class and a fiction writing class and then gave a presentation at 7:00 p.m. Approximately 100 students and others attended his reading, which was followed by a question and answer session.
Geyer read one of his short shorties, “Second Coming,” from a new book titled Texas Five X 5: Twenty-five Stories by Five Texas Writers.
A Texan by birth, Geyer currently teaches at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. His books include the co-authored Texas Five X 5: Twenty-five Stories by Five Texas Writers; the novel Dixie Fish; the story cycle Siren Songs from the Heart of Austin; the novel Meeting the Dead; and the story cycle Whispers in Dust and Bone, which won both the silver medal for short fiction in the Foreword Magazine Book of the Year Awards and the Spur Award from the Western Writers of America.
