ASU Ranked a ‘Top Texas Online School’
November 17, 2014
The Top Texas Online Schools rankings were released Nov. 11 as part of Edudemic’s 2015 Online College Report. Of the 26 colleges and universities on the list, ASU ranked second behind only West Texas A&M University. To be eligible for ranking, a school had to offer at least four bachelor’s degrees completely online. Also factored into the rankings were retention and graduation rates, financial aid services and availability, tuition rates, career services, transparency, and responsiveness to surveys and phone interviews.
Graded on a scale of 1-100, ASU scored a 99 with its highest marks coming in tuition rates, career services, financial aid and responsiveness.
Edudemic’s report on ASU stated, “Across all of our financial aid survey questions, Angelo State University scored very high. They offer a variety of university, departmental, organizational, research, and military scholarships – including multiple ‘full ride’ options. The department is almost perfect;” and, “With low in-state tuition rates and military friendly programs, Angelo State removes many of the traditional barriers to entry.”
ASU President Brian J. May said, “Our highest priority at ASU has always been to provide a quality and affordable education to all students, regardless of their situation. We have consistently received high rankings for our online master’s degree programs, and we are now starting to offer an increasing number of undergraduate courses and degrees online. It is gratifying to see that our efforts are not going unnoticed.”
ASU currently offers 17 complete degree programs online, including four bachelor’s degrees in border/homeland security and intelligence, security studies and analysis. Undergraduate courses are also available online in almost every academic discipline. More information on all ASU’s online courses and degree programs is available at www.angelo.edu/online-education/.
