Blackboard Collaborate is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Collaborate with the Ultra experience opens right in your browser, so you don’t have to install any software to join a session.
Engage with your students using HD video, audio, and webcam features. Collaborate can display up to 5 video sources at once. Never get lost with who is talking as the video jumps to the active speaker. Chat can be removed if needed.
File and Application Sharing
Share files with drag-and drop features or choose to share an application such as PowerPoint, web browser, or a document.
Randomly assign students to groups to allow them the opportunity to work together as teams. Participants can even create their own groups.
Recorded sessions are available in a mobile friendly format. Captured video, audio, and shared content can be played back as an MP4 file. Students can also join your collaborate session from their mobile devices by downloading the mobile app.
Join a Session
Sessions are easy to join and require no additional downloads. Simply select the Collaborate link in the course menu and choose the specific session you wish to join.
Audio and video enhance the online session. Users must give the browser permission to use audio and video to participate in a session. This is necessary so that users are seen and heard. Select the microphone and camera icons to begin participating in the online session.
Engage with the instructor (moderator) or other students (participants) by using HD video, audio, and webcam features. Chat with all participants or raise your hand for live question/answer sessions.
Join a collaborate session from your mobile devices by downloading the mobile app. Recorded sessions are available in a mobile friendly format at your instructors discretion.
