While serving as Chair of the Com/Theatre Department at Odessa College, I served as contest manager for multiple Regional OAP meets. Then I left to teach Theatre in public schools, directing OAP at Andrews High School for six years, advancing in various contests. While at Andrews High School, I started the Mustang Theatre Company, which now continues as a well-recognized and viable theatre program in West Texas.
I am now retired and enjoy judging at every level. My purpose is to make the contest an educational one, with my critique reflecting both the hard work and creativity of all those who participate, whether or not they advance. I believe in the mission of UIL and OAP, and see it as an invaluable part of education in Texas.
