France, Germany, Switzerland and Amsterdam


The France, Germany, Switzerland, & Amsterdam 2019 program has three main elements, and student can choose either two business classes or one business class and one art class. The business options include a course on “Understanding the European Union” and/ or a course on “Global Organizational Behaviors” and a course on Art and Architecture from Munich to Amsterdam. cultural experiences. Six classes will be held on-campus in the spring. Travel will include Munich, Lucerne, Strasbourg, Paris, and Amsterdam.

This program will provide students with a unique opportunity to study the European Union in the classroom, through assignments, and by visiting the European Parliament. One of the main purposes of the European Union was to encourage economic prosperity and the program includes exposure to business with visits to the BMW factory in Munich; the Mercedes truck assembly factory in Worth, Germany; France; the Louis Sipp Winery in Ribeauville, France; and Weberhaus Home Construction in Linx, Germany.

Business students will also examine the essentials of Organizational Behaviors in pre-departure, online coursework, followed by observing how organizations operate in European based on European culture and business processes. In addition to the commercial site visits described above, students will also visit the Alsatian Museum in Strasbourg, the Louvre and Orsay Museums in Paris, the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseums and the Martime Museums in Amsterdam, and cathedrals and churches in Munich, Strasbourg, and Paris. Other visits to historical/cultural sites will be the Neuschwanstein Castle near Munich, the Haut-Koenigsburg castle in France, and Palace of Versailles near Paris and Zaanse Schans in the Netherlands.
