Tourism & Cross-Cultural Communication: Japan & Hawaii

The 2020 International Studies Program to Tokyo (Japan)- Honolulu (Hawaii) to be conducted from June 1, 2020, to July 1, 2020, will provide approximately 20 students (10 undergraduate and 10 graduate) a unique opportunity to study ‘Tourism and Cross-Cultural Communication’ at the heartland of global interactions and cross-cultural exchanges. The program will highlight how communication/rhetoric plays a pivotal role in tourism, while traveling through the host cities of Honolulu and Tokyo. The program will be hosted by Hawaii Tokai International College in Honolulu, and lodging for Japan will be in centrally located hostel in Tokyo.  Additionally, we will be in Tokyo during the host city’s kick-off of the 2020 Olympic Games.
