Contest Rules and Regulations
The “Connect! Campus to Community” contest begins at 12:01 a.m. (Central Time) Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, and concludes at noon (Central Time) Friday, Oct. 12, 2012. All entries must be submitted by the contest deadline. Late entries will not be accepted.
- The contest is open to all full- and part-time ASU undergraduate and graduate students.
- The contest is not open to ASU faculty, staff or administration officials.
- Individual students may enter as many videos as they would like.
Video entries may be 30 seconds to two minutes in length and should somewhere in the video address the community involvement theme. All videos submitted must be free of any inappropriate language and images, sexual content or illegal activity. Blatant commercial advertising or product placement in videos is not acceptable.
Videos must comply with YouTube’s Terms of Service. Contest managers will review all videos, and if any are deemed inappropriate, they will be declared ineligible and will not be posted.
Entrants must complete and submit the contest entry form with each video to be eligible.
Voting will be open to all ASU students during the week of Oct. 8, 2012. E-mail voting ballots will be sent to all students, and the video with the most votes will be named the winner. Finalists will be contacted via the e-mail address they submitted in the online entry form. The contest sponsor will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact the selected entrants.
Prizes will be as follows:
- First Place - Kindle Fire
- Second Place - Apple TV
- Third Place - iPod Nano
All videos submitted, whether as a winning entry or not, will become the property of Angelo State University and may be used, published or republished, in whole or in part, royalty free, in any printed or electronic media and in promotional material, including recruitment and online publications. By submitting your video(s) for consideration, you provide Angelo State University with exclusive ownership of the video(s).
All entries must be original, unpublished and created solely by the submitting entrant(s), and may not violate the intellectual property rights, copyright, or right of property of any third party. Copyrighted materials will not be accepted unless specific permission for the use of such material can be shown.
Angelo State University reserves the right, at its discretion, to disqualify anyone found:
- Tampering with the entry process, the operation of the contest or the website promoting the contest
- Acting in violation of the Rules and Regulations
- Acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person
- In violation of student conduct requirements as outlined in the ASU Student Handbook
Caution: Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operations of the giveaway is in violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, sponsors reserve the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent of the law.
Personal information provided by entrants will be used by Angelo State University to administer the contest, and will not be used for any other purpose. However, first names will be used on the voting ballot so that voters can distinguish between entries.
