Withdrawals and Refunds

Withdrawal Definition

Withdrawal from the university is defined as leaving the university for the remainder of the semester and being officially removed from all classes. Students who do not complete the withdrawal process by the appropriate deadline will be assigned a grade in each of their classes. All deadlines for withdrawing refer to the close of business, which is 5:00 p.m. CST.

Students officially withdrawing from the university may be eligible for a refund of tuition and fees according to the Withdraw Refund Policy.

Financial Aid Recipients withdrawing from the university who have previously received disbursed aid may incur a debt to the university.

Withdrawal Process

A request for withdrawal from the University must be submitted online using the Course Drop and Withdrawal Request Form.

All of the steps must be completed to be withdrawn from the university. Please see the Academic Calendar for drop/withdrawal deadlines.

Before the Beginning of the Semester - If you do not plan to attend, it is your responsibility to notify us by 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time of the last business day before classes begin of your request to withdraw. Requests received after 5:00 p.m. will be processed on the next business day and you will be liable for any charges incurred. See the Withdraw Refund Policy for more information.

After the Beginning of the Semester - Students who do not complete the withdrawal process by 5:00 p.m. by the last day to withdraw deadline will be assigned a grade in each of their classes by the instructor.
