Discipline Records
The primary goal of the Office of the Dean of Students is to educate students and registered student organizations on ways to raise their standards of behavior.
Students and registered student organizations that are found responsible for violating the Code of Student Conduct, may receive sanctions.
Discipline Records/Transcripts
- The Office of the Dean of Students is often the point of contact for behavior- or conduct-related background checks. Inquiries for past conduct and behavioral information can be provided to federal, state and local entities via their investigation process. These entities must present authorization from the student regarding the inquiry via a waiver.
- Conduct and behavioral records are only stored for the length of time that is required by law. Angelo State University follows the Texas Tech University System’s procedures as they relate to the Records Retention Schedule.
- Disciplinary records are maintained in Room 112 of the Houston Harte University Center. Both electronic and paper records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years.
- Transfer students from an accredited college or university who are on disciplinary suspension or expulsion may not be admitted. The student’s educational record may be shared with colleges or universities where the student seeks or intends to enroll. For specific information regarding admission requirements, please view the University Catalog.
