Texas Educator Certification Examination Program (TExES)
The TExES is a criterion-referenced examination designed to measure a teacher candidate’s knowledge in relation to an established criterion rather than to the performance of other candidates. The TExES Educator Standards, based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), form the foundation for the TExES tests. Schedule
The schedule for TExES exam dates are as follows for the Computer Administered Test (CAT). If a date listed below no longer appears on the TExES/Pearson VUE registration website, ASU Testing Center is full and registration for that date at our location is no longer available.
Registration
Students register and pay for a TExES test online at http://www.tx.nesinc.com/ The actual test will be administered in the ASU Testing Center.
Cost
The registration fee for the TExES is:

$116 Test fee (per test)

$116 Test fee (per test) for Core Subjects EC-6 (291) and Core Subjects 4-8 (211)

$58 Test fee (per subject test) for test codes 801-809 (NOTE: You must take the overall Core Subjects test first; if you do not pass a subject test you can then take just that test. Passing one of the subject tests within the overall Core Subjects tests does not qualify you to be certified. Additional Fees May Apply.
