What is the TSI Assessment?
The TSI Assessment is approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as the suite of tests that accurately and efficiently assesses reading, writing and mathematics to satisfy Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements.
The State of Texas requires each person to complete a TSI Pre-Assessment prior to initially taking the TSI Assessment. The Pre-Assessment can be taken at home.
Students who live in the San Angelo area can take the TSI at the Angelo State University Testing Center. The TSI Assessment is given at the ASU Testing Center on specific dates throughout the academic year.
The fee for TSI On-Campus testing is $50 and must be paid online with credit card at the time of scheduling. The testing fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
We will follow social distancing protocols set forth by the CDC when testing. Seating is limited. Once filled, the date will be removed from the schedule.
The Testing Center is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. A scheduling form submitted after 5:00 pm will not be processed until the next business day. Complete the scheduling form and submit payment at least 24 hours prior to the date and time you are requesting.
You are not officially registered for an exam until payment is made and a confirmation email is received.

Students who live outside the San Angelo area, and are unable to take your TSI on the ASU campus, can test through Virtual Remote Proctoring.
Virtual Remote Proctoring - Have your TSI proctored online from any location. *Your computer must be equipped with a microphone and camera for virtual proctoring.
There is a $30 Remote Proctoring Voucher fee. This fee is payment for your TSI examination. Once payment is made and voucher request processed, you will receive a Remote Proctoring Voucher.
It is your responsibility to pay any proctoring fees associated with testing via remote proctoring.
Only Angelo State University students are eligible for Virtual Remote Proctoring.
