$4.77 Million U.S. Department of Education Grant for STEM Enhancement Project

Angelo State University has been awarded a $4.77 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education for a new project designed to enhance ASU’s enrollment, retention and graduation rates for Hispanic, low-income and other under-represented student groups in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Engineering Student Wins Prestigious Transportation Industry Scholarship

Linda Abernathy, a civil engineering student at Angelo State University, has been awarded this year’s $5,000 Molitoris Leadership Scholarship for Undergraduates from the Heart of Texas Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), an international organization dedicated to advancing women in transportation careers.

AEP Foundation Grant for New Engineering Student Hub

Angelo State University has received a $100,000 grant from the American Electric Power (AEP) Foundation to fund an endowment that will support the new Engineering Student Hub in the ASU Vincent Building. In recognition of that generosity, the facility has been renamed the AEP Foundation Engineering Student Hub.

Angelo State University’s Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.) degree program has earned accreditation by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission, retroactive to October 2018.
