  • AEP Foundation Grant for New Engineering Student Hub
    October 2 - Angelo State University has received a $100,000 grant from the American Electric Power (AEP) Foundation to fund an endowment that will support the new Engineering Student Hub in the ASU Vincent Building. In recognition of that generosity, the facility has been renamed the AEP Foundation Engineering Student Hub.

  • Civil Engineering Program Earns ABET Accreditation
    September 2 - Angelo State University’s Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.) degree program has earned accreditation by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission, retroactive to October 2018.

  • Engineering Student Picked for Dept. of Defense Internship/Scholarship Program
    April 27 - Logan Drake of Schertz, a junior mechanical engineering major at Angelo State University, has been selected for the U.S. Department of Defense’s 2020 Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program.

  • Engineering Team Wins Awards, Qualifies for Nationals
    March 11 - A team of Angelo State University civil engineering students brought home several awards and qualified for a national contest after taking part in competitions at the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Texas-Mexico Student Symposium March 4-7 in Arlington.

  • Engineering Labs Get New High-Tech Hydraulic Equipment
    May 30 - Angelo State University’s David L. Hirschfeld Department of Engineering has completed the installation of a new $177,000 hydraulic flow demonstrator that will be used for civil engineering teaching and research in the Hunter Strain Engineering Labs.

  • Civil Engineering Team Qualifies for National Competition
    May 8 - A team of six Angelo State University civil engineering students is one of only eight teams nationwide that has been invited to compete in the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Blue Sky Competition at the 2019 ASCE Student Conference June 6-8 in Melbourne, Fla.
