Spanish Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the BA in Spanish, graduates will be able to demonstrate

Goal 1: a broad understanding and appreciation of intellectual and cultural activities of the Spanishspeaking world and apply this knowledge in critical analysis by virtue of their performance in the Spanish Literature, Spanish-American Literature, Spanish Civilization and Culture, and SpanishAmerican Civilization and Culture sections of the Spanish Majors Field Test, measured by an average of the scores of those four sections.

Goal 2: an ability to read, write, speak and understand the Spanish language by virtue of their performance in the Listening, Speaking, Vocabulary and Reading, and Writing sections of the Spanish Majors Field Test, measured by an average of the scores of those four sections.

Goal 3: specific skills, competencies, and points of view needed by professionals in the field, by virtue of their performance in the language Structures section of the Spanish Majors Field Test, measured by the score on it.
