What Can You Do With an Exercise Science Degree?

Our bachelor’s degree in exercise science will open doors for you in a wide variety of sports, health and fitness career fields. It can also be a great first step toward graduate school for physical or occupational therapy.

You’ll also be eligible to test for a variety of certifications offered by the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Hands-On Learning

You can gain practical experience in our various high-tech lab facilities. They include medical-grade equipment, like an EKG machine, metabolic cart, ergometers, biological impedance instrumentation and a hologic DEXA X-ray machine. In addition to your classes, you can work on high-level research projects in the labs with your professors, which can give you an advantage when applying for jobs or for graduate or professional school.

You’ll “Fit” Right In

Stay fit and keep your competitive edge by participating in our nationally recognized intramurals program that features more than 2,000 students competing every year. You can also join a club sports team and compete against other colleges in sports like rugby, powerlifting, handball and rodeo. We also have a Kappa Mu Omega student organization that will expose you to a variety of networking and professional development opportunities.

Fantastic Facilities

Our Ben Kelly Center for Human Performance is one of the most popular buildings on campus. It houses an extensive weight room, fitness machines, rock-climbing walls, full-size gym, indoor pool and indoor track. Right next door is our Health and Human Services Building with its state-of-the-art simulation and skills labs, as well as a computer lab equipped with BodyViz software for even more interactive learning.
