Physical Therapy Clinical Practicum Dates

Clinical Practicum I – Acute Care. Eight-week acute care rotation that occurs after the first year of the program. Emphasis is on examination and management of the patient in the acute care setting. Preferred dates are in the fall. Alternate dates are in the summer.

Clinical Practicum II – Musculoskeletal/Orthopedic. Ten-week outpatient orthopedic rotation that occurs in the summer following the second year of the program. Emphasis is on examination and management of patients with musculoskeletal problems.

Clinical Practicum III – Neuromuscular/Rehab. Twelve-week inpatient or outpatient rotation that occurs in the spring of year three. Emphasis is on examination and management of patients with neuromuscular and/or other chronic diagnoses. Students may choose to do a specialty rotation in pediatrics during this rotation.
