Curtis Deception Lab
The Curtis Lab was established in 2013 at Angelo State University and is supervised by Dr. Drew Curtis. The lab broadly researches clinical science and various aspects of deception. Specifically, the lab has focused on three main areas: pathological lying, deception within psychotherapy and health care professions, and psychomythology of psychopathology.

Dr. Drew A. Curtis
Dr. Drew Curtis is a Texas Licensed Psychologist, an Associate Professor of Psychology, and Director of the Counseling Psychology Master’s Program at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX.
Dr. Curtis is the author of the textbook, Abnormal Psychology: Myths of “Crazy”, and book, Foundations of Abnormality: Myths, Misconceptions, and Movies. He has worked on established theory and research for understanding pathological lying as a diagnostic entity. He has also published and presented numerous research findings over pathological lying, deception (psychotherapy, nursing, physical therapy, relationships, parenting, law, forensics), and psychomythology of psychopathology.
