Woodwind Ensembles

Flute Choir

The Flute Choir is open to all students who play the flute and seek a performance opportunity for musical expression through teamwork among like instruments. This ensemble plays music that features the entire flute family from piccolo down to bass flute, and that is representative of a wide range of musical styles from standard literature to transcriptions and new compositions.

While students must have access to their own C flute, the extended family is provided as needed. For more information, contact Dr. Constance Kelley.

Clarinet Choir

The Clarinet Choir is open to all students and ASU community members who play the clarinet and seek an avenue for small group musical expression. This ensemble plays music that features the entire clarinet family from E-flat clarinet down to contra alto clarinet, The repertoire is representative of a wide range of musical styles from standard literature to transcriptions and new compositions.

While students should have access to their own Bb clarinet, other members of the clarinet family can be provided as called for. For more information, contact Dr. Timothy Bonenfant.

Saxophone Quartet

The Sax Quartet is open to all students who play the saxophone. While the group does call for an exact number of performers, there may be multiple groups available for participation, depending on enrollment. This group plays music that features primarily music written for the soprano/alto/tenor/baritone combination, The ensemble’s music is representative of a wide range of musical styles from standard literature to transcriptions, new compositions, and jazz arrangements.

While students should have access to their own alto or tenor saxophone, other members of the saxophone family can be provided as called for. For more information, contact Dr. Timothy Bonenfant.
