MBA Major Field Test
What are Exit Exams
Exit exams are comprehensive undergraduate and graduate outcomes assessments designed to measure the critical knowledge and understanding obtained by students in a major field of study. MBA graduate candidates are administered the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Major field Test (MFT).
Who takes the MFT
All MBA students must complete and pass the MBA-MFT. The MBA-MFT is administered as part of Strategic Management in a Global Environment (MGMT 6313), our capstone course. In addition MBA students must complete the MBA program exit survey, administered in MGMT 6313, in order to graduate.
The MFT schedule for MBA students is set by the testing center. The MFT is generally scheduled for April, July, and November, just prior to each graduation. Testing dates will be provided in advance, so students should check with Mr. Jordan DeMaio for more information.
Students should register with the testing center online: MBA-MFT Registration. The Testing Center is open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Complete and submit their registration form at least 48 hours prior to the exam date and time. Registration forms submitted after 5 p.m. will not be processed until the next business day by their office. You are not officially registered for an exam until you receive a confirmation email from the Testing Center.
Information to include: Name, preferred testing date, name of the exam (MBA-MFT), ASU student ID number, phone number, ASU email address, and your prospective graduation date.
Online Students – Off Site Testing
Students taking online classes who do not reside in the San Angelo area may request the MFT be proctored at a certified testing center in your area. To request proctoring off-site, complete the Off-Site Testing Request Form. A minimum of five (5) business days is required for processing once the Off-Site Testing request form is received by the ASU Testing Center. The MBA MFT is a three (3) hour exam. Keep these factors in mind when scheduling.
Although there are no testing fees associated with MFT testing at the Angelo State University Testing Center, students requesting off-site testing will be responsible for any proctor fees the off-site testing center may require.
