Math Lab

As Angelo State moves courses online in response to the COVID-19 Virus, all tutoring, math lab services, writing center services and SI sessions will be moving online.  There will be no face-to-face tutoring for 2020 summer I or summer II sessions.

To access the virtual ASU Math Lab, log in to Blackboard and find Tutor, SI, and Math Lab Academic Support for Students in your list of Organizations. Use the Math Lab button to view scheduled course tutoring days/times through Blackboard Collaborate.

The safety and security of our students is Angelo State University’s highest priority. However, we are keenly aware that our students continue to need academic support. In order to help our students persist to graduation and be academically successful, Angelo State University will continue providing academic support during the summer sessions in multiple ways.


  1. Upswing provides ASU students with 24/7 online tutoring for most undergraduate classes. Go to Use your ASU email, create an account, choose your subject.
  2. Students are enrolled in Tutor, SI, Math Lab Academic Support for Students course in Blackboard. Contact Erin Girsch ( for more information.
  3. For information about E-Submissions to the ASU Writing Center, go to the Writing Center Electronic Draft Submission Contact the Writing Center ( with questions.
  4. Helpful tips about learning online, information about the Blackboard Student Support Course, information about the Library, and info about potential free internet services for college students can be found on the Remote Rams page.
  5. Follett is providing free E-book options for students whose access to their textbooks has been impacted by COVID-19. Go to for more information.
  6. Advising for summer and fall continues and faculty should encourage their majors to be advised. Students should contact the department chair in their major by email or phone or find their advisor. Upper division students should contact the department chair of their major by email or phone.

Upswing 24/7 Online Tutoring Sessions

Schedule an online tutoring session.  Students are allowed 2 hours of free online tutoring per week.  Please note that hourly restrictions are only for Upswing tutoring services; tutoring through Blackboard Collaborate is unlimited. 

Dual Credit Students

All Angelo State University dual credit students may utilize the on-campus tutoring services. Students enrolled in ASU dual credit classes on their high school campus who need tutoring should contact the Director of Academic Support Centers to make arrangements for tutorial assistance at
