Signature Courses create a classroom environment where first-year students can interact with faculty regarding intellectual topics of mutual interest and can engage in shared inquiry and the practice of reasoning.
Signature Courses are structured around:
- Written communication
- Oral communication
- Familiarizing students with campus resources and activities
The small size and interdisciplinary nature of Signature Courses foster exploration and scholarly exchange among students and instructors.
Taught by experienced faculty from almost every ASU academic department, Signature Courses cover an array of topics, allowing first-year students to interact with their professors and classmates, investigate contemporary or interdisciplinary issues, or simply explore a major.
