Official Transcripts for International Students

First-Year Students

If you are a first-year undergraduate student (freshman), request that your secondary schools mail your official transcript(s), mark sheets or graduation certificates, complete with the school’s seal and signature of the registrar, to ASU’s Center for International Studies. Photocopies not bearing the original mark or seal of the school are not acceptable.

Transfer Students

If you are transferring from another accredited U.S. college, university or junior college, ASU must receive an official sealed transcript from each school attended, including secondary or high school work.

Transfer Credits

To determine if non-U.S. college credit is transferable to ASU, you must have transcripts evaluated by a credentials evaluation service. The preferred service is Foreign Credential Services of America, but any company in the United States is acceptable. Evaluations must be completed in English and include semester credit hours and letter grades. The approximate cost is U.S. $175 for a full evaluation.

Notice About Transcripts

At the time of application, it is your choice to submit foreign college and/or university transcripts for admission purposes and transfer credit determination at ASU. However, once transfer credit is evaluated by ASU personnel, you no longer have the option to eliminate these credits from your record. All transcripts become the property of ASU once submitted and cannot be returned to the applicant.
