Individual Awards

  • Promising Male Leader of the Year Award is Cody Vasquez nominated by Delta Sigma Pi.

    Male WinnerThis award goes to a male student that has shown great leadership potential within the University and within his organization. This student must demonstrate an overall ability to lead in a productive manner with emphasis on dedication and commitment and must be in good standing with the University.

  • Promising Female Leaders of the Year Award winner is Edelyn Park.

    Web Female WinnerThis award goes to a female student that has shown great leadership potential within the University and within her organization. This student must demonstrate an overall ability to lead in a productive manner with emphasis on dedication and commitment and must be in good standing with the University.

  • Advisor of the Year is John E. Klingemann nominated by the Association of Mexican-American Students.

    Multicultural Org of the yearThis award will go to an advisor of a registered student organization who has shown immense commitment and enthusiasm for the organization.  Going above and beyond the requirements of the organization he or she advises, and truly dedicated to the organization and its members.

  • Quiet Influence Award winner is Dr. Clifton Dean Jones nominated by Delta Sigma Pi.

    WinnerThis award will go to a faculty or staff member that has shown great dedication to the well-being of the students at Angelo State University, but has often gone unrecognized for his or her services.


Categorical Awards

  • Academic/Professional Organization of the Year Award winner is the American Chemical Society.

    Academic ProfessionalThis award goes to the academic organization that displays the academic excellence of Angelo State University and its students. This organization preserves the academic merit of Angelo State University as well as motivates its members to succeed in their field of study.

     

  • Club Sports Organization of the Year Award winner is Rambelle Rugby.

    WinnerThis organization allows ASU students to compete against other universities in non-NCAA sporting events. This award is given to an organization that is not only successful in competition, but also strives to uphold the integrity of Angelo State University throughout their competing season.

  • Greek Life Organization of the Year Award winner is Sigma Kappa.

    Greek Life OrganizationThis award goes to the fraternity or sorority which promotes Angelo State University in a genuine manner to their fellow students both on-campus and to their national organization. This organization must be in good-standing with the university, and exhibit good spirit and character throughout the year.

  • Honor Society of the Year Award winner is the Honor Student Association.

    Hindman Award webThis award goes to the honor society that recognizes academic excellence and leadership. This organization must have a cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 among all its members.

  • Multicultural/International Organization of the Year Award winner is the Association of Mexican-American Students.

    Multicultural Org of the year webThis award goes to the multicultural/international student organization which displays a sincere dedication to multiculturalism and diversity. The organization will be selected based on its ability and willingness to educate students about various cultures by hosting events and celebrating their traditions.

  • Special Interest Organization of the Year Award is RAMbassadors.

    Special InterestThis award goes to the special interest organization that has demonstrated commitment to their purpose and mission through its activities and events for members at Angelo State University and the community. This organization provides an outlet for interests not typically addressed by other organizations.

  • Spiritual Life Organization of the Year Award is rewarded to the Catholic Newman Center.

    Spiritual Life winnerThis award goes to the spiritual life organization which promotes Angelo State University in a genuine manner to their fellow students both on-campus and to the supporting spiritual community. This organization must be in good-standing with the university, and exhibit good spirit and character throughout the year.

  • Board/Council Organization of the Year Award winner is the Panhellenic Council.

    Panhellenic GirlsThis award goes to the board or council that provides superior leadership and direction to their members. This organization provides their membership with guidance and support for initiatives both on-campus and off.


Academic/Professional

  • Dr. E. James Hindman Award winner is the Honors Student Association. 

    Hindman Award webThis award recognizes the overall organization of the year. The organization must have demonstrated strong leadership, creativity, initiative, and perseverance. This organization also must have made a meaningful contribution to the students, the University, and to the surrounding community.

  • Most Spirited Organization Award winner is Delta Sigma Pi.  

    Most Spirited Winner WebThis award is to recognize the organization that has exhibited the most school spirit throughout the year.  This organization has demonstrated “Ram Pride” and striven to enhance the campus community by supporting University programs traditions, events, and fellow student organizations.

  • Outstanding Community Service Award winners is Honor Student Association

    Outstanding Community ServiceThis award is to recognize the organization who has sought out to serve not only Angelo State University but the San Angelo community as well. The organization will be selected based on contributions and participation.

  • Rising Ram Organization Award winner is Health Science Society.

    Rising Ram Award WinnersThis award will go to a student organization that is new to Angelo State University this school year.  The organization will be selected based on their organization’s development, leadership advancement of members, ability to overcome obstacles, and contribution to the University and community.
