Online and dual credit programs provide access to higher education. To assist ASU students who are not on campus, we have put together a list of recommended resources where ASU students who face food insecurity may find community resources.

All food pantries/food banks have a website for more information about distributions schedules, location, and contact information. We advise you to call first before visiting the location to get their most updated information and to request eligibility information.

    The Food Bank of Abilene, Inc. The Food Bank of West Central Texas is a non-profit 501 (C) 3 community service organization that collects donated food to distribute to other non-profit agencies serving the needy of the Big Country.

    The Food Pantry distributes food to people in need on the second Friday morning of each month from 9:00-12:00. On food distribution mornings, ministry team members handle the paperwork, pray with the recipients individually, bag and box the food, and carry it to the recipients’ vehicle. In a typical month we serve over 100 families, with each family receiving around 30 lbs of food, plus an extra smaller box if there are children in the home.

    We are serious about sharing God’s blessings with our community. Each 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month we serve from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. we open our Community Food Pantry (CFP). Partnering with the West Texas Food Bank in Odessa, and with the help of volunteers from our church and community we provide food assistance for residents of our community who qualify (proof of residency and a signed statement of income is required).
