Tutoring Available

Tutor.com/military is a DoD-funded program that provides individualized on-demand academic support 24/7 at no cost to eligible students of U.S. military families around the world. Students work in an anonymous, secure, online classroom with a live expert tutor, one-on-one, at any time and from anywhere. The service not only provides tutoring for students at all skill levels, but may also be used to check work, get homework help, proofreading/writing support, assist with understanding concepts, college essays, standardized test prep and practice quizzes to assist current knowledge.

Tutoring is available for more than 40 subjects and AP courses. Tutoring in Spanish is available for native Spanish speakers for math, science, and social studies. Due to the pandemic, the program has been expanded to include not only Active Duty and their family members, but also Guard and Reserve and their adult dependents, DoD Civilian children and adults, the Service Academies, and ROTC students at colleges.

Access Tutor.com from the AF Portal or by going directly to tutor.com/military, and registering for an account.

You Can Fly Program

The You Can Fly program has been implemented for the next AY and cadets can receive $3500 towards a local flying scholarship. This program is to inspire and motivate cadets who might not have considered pursuing a Rated career, to get them interested in flying, and/or help to increase a cadet’s Pilot Candidate Selection Method(PCSM) score with flight hours. After much deliberation, Det 847 is proud to announce C/Stokes and C/Yates as are our primary candidates, and C/Mumme as our alternate candidate. Congratulations!

ASU Det 847 was selected as the Southwest Region Team of the Quarter for the 2nd quarter of 2019!
