Regent Scholars

Get a jump-start on college life by taking classes at Angelo State with current ASU students.

This program is available to high school students who want to take classes on the Angelo State campus and are willing to commute to classes in San Angelo.

Become part of the Ram Family:

Submit your dual credit application.
Have your parent/guardian submit the dual credit parent/guardian agreement form.

Your parent/guardian will receive an email with a link to submit this electronic form a few days after you apply. This will be sent to the parent’s email address entered on the dual credit application.

Submitting this form electronically is the fastest way to complete this step. However, a paper version of the agreement form is available. Please print, sign and return this form to your high school counselor.
Request your high school transcript and all test scores be sent to Angelo State.
Review available courses and complete a course selection sheet with your high school counselor.
Submit your proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination.
This is required for all students under the age of 22 prior to registering for courses.

To be eligible for admission, you must present a composite score on the ACT or a combined verbal and math score on the SAT for the high school class ranks shown below:

If you would like to be considered for admission to the Regent Scholars Dual Credit Program without ACT/SAT scores, please notify the dual credit office. Applications will be reviewed based on academic qualifications, such as GPA, class rank, TSI scores and STAAR End of Course (EOC) scores.

*SAT scores include combined critical reading and math. Redesigned SAT scores include evidence-based reading & writing and math. Both SAT tests will use the combined maximum score of 1600.

All students who do not meet TSI exemption requirements must take a TSI assessment test in Math and/or Reading and Writing and meet the minimum score below in order to enroll in a dual credit Math or English course with Angelo State. TSI assessment scores or exemptions must be recorded with Angelo State prior to enrollment.

*All college-level English courses require passing TSI scores in Reading and Writing.

If you are taking classes on the ASU campus, you will be charged $183.85 per credit hour. A three-hour course would cost $551.55 and a four-hour course would cost $735.40. Scholarships are not available. Tuition rates are subject to change.

You are responsible for purchasing your own textbooks required for the course, as well as payment of any textbook fees. You are also responsible for purchasing a parking permit to park on campus.
