Entry fees for the Regional Track and Field Meet are covered by a flat fee and are non-refundable. Fees must be paid through your district director in accordance with the Schedule of Fees.
The Hy-Tek Meet Manager software system should be used for all District/Area Meet results. Complete District/Area Meet results must be sent via email or fax to:
District/Area Meet results must be received by Saturday, April 23, at 5 p.m.
Coaches of qualifying athletes must register their athletes in the appropriate events through the Direct Athletics online meet entry service. Athlete registration must be completed no later than Saturday, April 23, at 5p.m.
Coaches must enter athletes’ performances from the District Meet or Area Meet (whichever was used for advancement to the Regional Meet) for heating and seeding purposes. Do not enter their “all-time best mark.” All marks will be verified by the regional director prior to issuing your meet packets.
NOTE: The individual names of relay team members MUST be reported in the meet results that are sent to the Regional Meet director.
When entering your relay teams in the Regional Meet, coaches may list the four runners that ran at the District/Area Meet, plus TWO (2) alternates. Any changes to these six (6) athletes must be made at the coaches meeting and must match the names listed on the relay card the day of the prelims. Any of the six (6) names listed on the relay card submitted on the first day of the meet may run at any time during the meet.
Coaches must also remember the UIL Rule of only three (3) running events per athlete, including relay participation.
A mandatory pre-meet coaches meeting will take place on Friday, April 29 at 8:30 a.m. in Classrooms B-C of the ASU Junell Center-Stephens Arena on South Jackson Street. Meet packets will be issued at this time.
There are specific start times for each event – it is not a rolling schedule. A detailed meet schedule will be included in each coach’s packet. However, in case of inclement weather or other unusual circumstances, the university reserves the right to make appropriate changes to the schedule.

Team Award Presentation

If a qualified athlete is unable to compete, that athlete’s coach or school administrator should notify the coach or school administrator of the next-highest finisher so the vacancy can be filled.

Running Events
Athletes competing in running events must check in at the blue tent next to the warm-up area and get hip numbers for their race. For relay teams, all four members must check in at the same time for uniform check and to turn in their relay cards. Athletes will be escorted to the starting line prior to each race.
Field Events
Athletes competing in field events must check in at their event site before the start of the event. Athletes not checked in before their event starts may not be allowed to compete.
Pole Vault
Pole vault competitors must check in to be weighed and have their poles checked based on this schedule:
Friday, April 29
Boys – 11 a.m.
Girls – 1:30 p.m.
Athletes will be weighed and have their “legal” poles marked for competition. Illegal poles are not allowed in the vaulting venue.
Relay Cards
Each relay team will receive a relay card in their team’s meet packet. Relay teams must have their completed relay card when they check in for their preliminary race. Only the six athletes listed on the relay card for the preliminaries will be allowed to compete at the Regional Meet.
Teams will not need an additional relay card for the finals.
Competitor Numbers
Every athlete will be issued a competitor number that must be worn on the front of their jersey during competition. Only pole vaulters may wear their numbers on the back of their jersey. Athletes must have their competitor number to check in for their respective events.
Athletes competing in the discus and shot put events must have their implements weighed and inspected. The certification area will be located at the back entrance to the Junell Center.

Only certified discus and shot put implements will be allowed in the event area.
Athletes with their competitor numbers, two coaches and one athletic trainer for each team will be admitted free.
Adult General Admission – $8 per day
Adult Two-Day Pass – $12
Student General Admission – $5 per day
Athletes and coaches may enter the complex at any gate. Athletes will gain entrance with their competitor numbers. Each team will receive two coach’s wristbands and one extra wristband.
Spectators must enter through either the north or south spectator entrances.
Results, the events schedule and other meet information will be available on this webpage after the end of all competitions each day.
Protests must be filed within 15 minutes of the conclusion of an event.
Only coaches may file a protest – and coaches may not look at finish line pictures. If a coach has a question, they should submit a written request for the meet referee to look at the finish line photo.
The top three finishers in each event will receive awards immediately following the final of the event.
The top three finishers will be escorted to the awards podium immediately following their event and should move quickly in that direction to expedite the process.
Team trophy presentations will be done following the 4x400-meter relay awards on Saturday afternoon.
The concession stand will be open both days with a variety of food options.

Team buses must be parked along the street or in the northernmost area of the Junell Center parking lots. Parking at the track and field complex is reserved for spectators.
Team camps or tents will be allowed adjacent to and in the warm-up area – and under or in the east-side grandstand bleachers. Tents are not allowed in the west-side grandstand bleachers.
Only quarter-inch (1/4”) pyramid spikes are allowed.
Use only tape on track surfaces for marks and relay-exchange marks. No chalk or raised markers are allowed.
The Regional Meet will be conducted in accordance with all NFHS and UIL Track and Field rules and procedures.
The 800-meter run will be a “final only’ event. It will start from a one-turn stagger with two runners per lane, and break at the break point.
The 1,600-meter run and 3,200-meter run will be “final only” events with waterfall starts.
No radios, video or digital camcorders, iPods, iPads or cell phones are allowed at any time in the competition areas, track, infield or training tent.
The warm-up area is restricted to the upper field south of the discus sector.
Coaches must remain in the bleachers or outside the blue and yellow flagging. Coaches are not allowed on the infield at any time. There will be designated areas for video reviews by coaches and their athletes.
Commemorative Regional Championship T-shirts will be available for $20 each. Cash and checks will be accepted.
