2019 Cross Country Championships

Entries
Coaches must register their runners on-line at www.directathletics.com.
District results must be certified by that meet director and emailed to the regional meet Director James Reid. The deadline for regional entries is 5 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2019. You may enter up to seven (7) athletes. Substitutions are allowed all the way up to and during pre‐race packet pick up. All athletes entered must be certified eligible by UIL rules. Remember that five (5) runners constitutes a team, so to score as a team, you must have five (5) runners complete the race.

Entry Fees
$20 FEE PER RUNNER up to seven (7) runners and the maximum entry fee per team will be $140.

To help assure fees are received, it is suggested that after Monday, October 21, schools hand carry fees and not rely on the mail to get them to Angelo State on time. All schools and/or districts paying for multiple high schools should indicate the schools and amount included for each school on the stub or on an attached sheet.

Registration Instructions
Coaches who qualify teams or individuals for the regional meet must register runners through Direct Athletics by 5 p.m. Monday, October 21.
Coaches are SOLELY responsible for correctly registering their runners.
Do not register alternates. If needed, follow substitution process included in the meet information.-

- If you do not already have an account, you must create one. Under Getting Started click on Coaches/Athletes, then New Users, then Create a Team Account.
- Follow instructions to register a school’s team or individual. Please make certain all names are spelled correctly.

Course
Girls
3,200 meter course will be grass and dirt flat to rolling hills with turns and straights consisting of one inner loop, and one large loop with a couple of pavement crossings.
Boys
5,000 meter course will be grass and dirt flat to rolling hills with turns and straights including one small loop and one and a half large loop with a couple of pavement crossings.

Course Preview
The course will be available for preview and practice between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Packet Pick Up
Available at course Sunday, October 27, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and beginning one (1) hour prior to the first race (8 a.m.) on Monday, October 28.

Mandatory Report
Included in the meet information is a Coaches Mandatory Report. This form includes coach and school information, and a list of all runner’s names and school classification.
This form is for meet management only, it is not registration for the meet. You must register for the meet on‐line at www.directathletics.com.

Qualifiers
The top three (3) teams and the top ten (10) individuals shall qualify from District to the Regional Meet. Additional individuals are not moved into the top 10 qualifiers if any of the first 10 qualifiers are also on a team.

Substitutions
Substitutions may be made on the team which has qualified for the regional meet.
No substitutions for a runner who has qualified as an individual.
Any substitutions can be made prior to Sunday, October 27, 2019, via email, or at the course Sunday (10/27) during the course preview time, or Monday (10/28) morning during packet pick up time.

Box Assignments
Teams/Runners are randomly assigned a box number from which they will stage and start the race. Box numbers will be found in team packets, and painted on the starting line.

Results
Results will be available to coaches on site at the completion of the meet, and also available on-line at angelosports.com “Unofficial” results will be posted on site and will be considered “final” after a 30 minute protest period.

Awards
We will honor all the award recipients individual and teams immediately following the boys race when all results go final.

Parking
Ample parking is available in the Foster Field / 1st Community Credit Union Field Baseball Stadium parking lot. The lot is accessible from South Jackson Street or University Avenue. There will be designated team parking and spectator parking.

Spectators
Spectators must stay off the course as marked, and out of the start and finish line area as to not obstruct competitors. It is a very viewer friendly course with most of the course visible without moving much.

Restrooms
Only portable restrooms will be available on the course for spectator and participant usage.

T-Shirts
Commemorative t‐shirts will be available for purchase at the course.
