Special Blackboard Course Requests
Need help with a special request for one of your Blackboard courses? Here are the most common faculty requests we support.
Course Template or Organization Request
If you would like space to design and develop a course, or if you want a shared space in Blackboard, use this Course Template or Organization Request Form. Course templates are typically used as a virtual space to work on course builds or course content. Organizations may be used for a variety of reasons and are not necessarily academic in nature, but they may be used for administrative, departmental, or training purposes.
Course Merge
If you are teaching two sections of the same course and would like to merge them in Blackboard, you can request a course merge. Your department chair and dean will need to sign off on the merge, and there are a few considerations to keep in mind to ensure that we remain compliant with FERPA. Read the information included in the Course Merge Request to see if this is a good option for you.
Course Copy
Copying course content from a template or previous course is easy, but we certainly have a few tips to make the process go smoother and save you some cleanup and confusion later. To get help making your own course copy contact the Center for Digital Learning and Instruction at CDLI@angelo.edu or 325-942-2853. If you are in a hurry and need the center to complete the course copy for you, use the Course Copy Request Form. Or, if you would like to expedite the process, you have the ability to copy your own course content with guided instructions.
Course Quota
Are you getting a message in Blackboard that you have reached your course quota? For help optimizing your content to reduce the size of your class, contact the Center for Digital Learning and Instruction at CDLI@angelo.edu or 325-942-2853. But if you are in a pinch and need to upload something right away, open a ticket with Information Technology at 325-942-2911 or itsupport@angelo.edu.
Restore Course Access
As we continue to make improvements to Blackboard and move towards Ultra courses, faculty are removed from courses three years prior to the end of the current term. This will allow Ultra Base Navigation to work optimally. We will continue to follow the State of Texas Retention Schedule. Should you need access to old courses you can complete the Course Restore Request Form.
