Testimonials
“The High/Low-Context module was fascinating. I have much more clarity on cultural learning styles” - Dr. Trey Holik, Department of Physics and Geosciences
“The CRASH program is a fantastic way to think about your teaching practices and improve your existing educational talents. Although specifically tailored to address our Hispanic students, CRASH helps improve teaching practices for all of our students in the process. I loved the opportunity to examine my own thoughts about teaching with other Angelo State University faculty and staff. I’ve broadened my teaching perspectives, improved my teaching practices, and got to know some excellent people across campus I might not have gotten the chance to meet otherwise!” - Dr. Christopher Shar, Department of Social Work and Sociology
“The CRASH course offered me new ways to engage with my students, reach them where they are, and help them succeed in my courses and in their academic careers. It has been great to interact with faculty from across campus to get new ideas and reenergize my approaches to teaching, advising, and mentoring.” - Dr. David Faught, Natalie Zan Ryan Department of English and Modern Languages
“The workshop gave me the opportunity to critically evaluate my teaching practices and identify areas where I could be better serving ALL of my students. In addition, the workshop allowed a number of supplemental activities and examples for how to adjust my pedagogy, assumptions, and values to better serve Hispanic students. I am so thankful to have been in the workshop and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in becoming the best professors and mentors that we can possibly be. ” - Dr. Paige Trubenstein, Department of Psychology and Sociology
