Dr. Micheal W. Salisbury, dean of the Angelo State University College of Graduate Studies and Research, has been appointed the new dean of ASU’s Freshman College, effective Dec. 1.

Security Studies Prof Publishes New Textbook on U.S. Intelligence

Dr. Jeffrey Dailey of the Angelo State University security studies faculty has co-authored a new textbook titled “Intelligence for Homeland Security: An Introduction” through Colorado-based Lynne Rienner Publishers, an independent publisher of scholarly texts.

Physics Prof Wins National Science Foundation Research Grant

Dr. Kenneth Carrell, an assistant professor of physics at Angelo State University, has been awarded a two-year, $105,535 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to fund an astrophysics research project that will also involve ASU undergraduate students.

Faculty Win National Science Foundation Grant to Improve STEM Opportunities

Three Angelo State University faculty members have been awarded a $199,597 grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to fund a two-year project aimed at increasing the recruitment and retention of students in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, particularly students from historically under-represented populations.

Dr. William A. Taylor, an associate professor of global security studies at Angelo State University, has been awarded a 2021 Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation Research Grant in support of his forthcoming fifth book, “The Advent of the All-Volunteer Force: Protecting Free Society.”

Four Angelo State University staff and faculty have been selected for a 2021 Catalyst Award from the Blackboard Inc. global education technology company, and will be recognized at Blackboard’s “BbWorld” annual international conference that will be conducted virtually beginning July 13.

Longtime English Prof Awarded Emeritus Status

Dr. Terence “Terry” Dalrymple, a member of the Angelo State University English faculty for 40 years until his retirement in May 2020, has been awarded the title of Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents.
