Standards of Accreditation

  • Angelo State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Angelo State University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Reaffirmation

SACSCOC requires that each member institution reaffirm its accreditation every 10 years. ASU completed its decennial review in 2022–23.

ASU submitted its compliance certification, jointly authored by a committee of faculty and administrators, for off-site review in September 2022.

ASU submitted its Quality Enhancement Plan in February 2023.  ASU’s Quality Enhancement Plan.

The SACSCOC On-site Review Committee visited ASU’s campus March 6–9, 2023.

Angelo State University earned reaffirmation with no recommendations for improvement for its accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) following the December 2023 annual meeting of the accrediting body’s board of trustees.  View the entire press release.
