County Business Patterns (Census Bureau)
- An annual series that provides subnational economic data by industry.
- Statistics are available on business locations at the U.S. level and by state, county, metropolitan area and zip code levels. Also available are data for Puerto Rico and the Island Areas (American Samoa, Guam, The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
Economic Indicators (Census Bureau)
- Key economic measures on employment, manufacturing, international trade, retail sales, and residential construction and sales allow those who follow the U.S. economy to enhance their business knowledge
EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval) (Securities and Exchange Commission)
- EDGAR performs automated collection, validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by companies who are required by law to file forms with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Export Administration Regulations (Dept. of Commerce, Bureau of Industry & Security)
- These are the unofficial electronic EAR files created by BIS. The legally official text of the EAR is provided via the Federal Register publications.

Crime and Justice Electronic Data Abstracts
- Aggregated data from a wide variety of published sources that are presented in spreadsheets to facilitate use with analytic software
- Files contain thousands of numbers and hundreds of categories, displayed by jurisdiction and over time
- Wherever possible the data are the most recent available
Federal Justice Statistics Program (FJSP)
- Annual data on workload, activities, and outcomes associated with federal criminal cases
- Data collected from the U.S. Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, Executive Office for the U.S. Attorney, Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, U.S. Sentencing Commission, and Federal Bureau of Prisons
National Criminal Justice Reference Database (NCJRS)
- Contains summaries of more than 180,000 criminal justice publications
- Search the NCJRS Virtual Library –full-text publications
- Search more than 7,000+ full-text publications from this site and from NCJRS partner agencies
Academic Institutional Profiles (National Science Foundation, Division of Science Resources Studies)

Produced annually for those universities and colleges reporting non-zero data for the past three fiscal years in at least one of the following surveys:
- the National Science Foundation (NSF) Survey of Research and Development Expenditures at Universities and Colleges (academic R&D expenditures survey)

- Provides links to available information for health information and health education resources.
- Results include sources recommended by NIH Health Information
- Lists a wealth of health promotion and education materials
- Web-based archive of journal literature for all of the life sciences
- Being developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM)
- Access to PubMed Central is free and unrestricted
IRS Tax Forms and Publications
- Use the “Search for” box and choose “Forms & Publications” in the “within:” box.
- Forms can be searched by number or keyword, then downloaded. Several file formats are available
Occupational Outlook Handbook (Bureau of Labor Statistics)
- This public database receives frequent updates from input by a broad range of workers in each occupation
- Contains information on almost 1,000 occupations covering the entire U.S. economy.
- Helps people find the training and jobs they need, and employers the skilled workers necessary to be competitive in the marketplace
- U.S. Government’s official site for jobs and employment information provided by the United States Office of Personnel Management
- A central site for obtaining Service Contract Act (SCA) and Davis-Bacon Act (DBA) wage determinations
- Provides a User Guide for guidance in selecting wage determinations
AGRICOLA (National Agricultural Library)
- A database of citations to the agricultural literature created by the National Agricultural Library (NAL) and its cooperators
Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC)
- Helps the DoD community access pertinent scientific and technical information to meet mission needs more effectively
- Includes several online databases and websites

NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information

National Service Center for Environmental Publications (NSCEP/NEPIS) (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)
- Features the U.S. Environmental Agency’s National Environmental Publications Internet Site (NEPIS) database
- Provides access to over 24,000 digital EPA documents
- Offers Simple, Advanced, and Field searches
NTIS (National Technical Information Service)
- NTIS is “the largest, central resource for government-funded scientific, technical, engineering and business-related information available today”
- Search the NTIS Library for documents published since 1990
- A central connection to science, technology, and engineering resource information from the U.S. Department of Energy. (Replaces SciTech Connect)
- Makes available over 70 years of research results from DOE and its predecessor agencies. Includes journal articles, accepted manuscripts, technical reports, scientific research data sets, and more
PubChem (National Center for Biotechnology Information)
This library is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. Public access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law. (Title 44 United States Code).
