Rammys
The Rammys are awarded during an annual ceremony hosted by the Student Government Association and Student Life.
They honor registered student organizations, student leaders, and faculty and staff who have made outstanding contributions to both Angelo State and the San Angelo community throughout the academic school year.
All registered student organizations are invited to attend this event, which features dinner and award presentation. Cocktail attire is suggested for the evening.
Individual Awards
This award goes to a male student who has shown great leadership potential within the university and within his organization. This student must demonstrate an overall ability to lead in a productive manner with emphasis on dedication and commitment, and must be in good standing with the university.
This award goes to a female student who has shown great leadership potential within the university and within her organization. This student must demonstrate an overall ability to lead in a productive manner with emphasis on dedication and commitment, and must be in good standing with the University.
This award will go to a faculty/staff advisor of a registered student organization who has shown immense commitment and enthusiasm for the organization. This advisor goes above and beyond the requirements of the organization he or she advises, and is truly dedicated to the organization and its members.
This faculty or staff member may not be officially affiliated with a registered student organization, but has gone the extra mile to ensure the well-being of the students at Angelo State University and to allow RSOs to be successful.
The Most Valued Ram award recognizes a student who goes above and beyond to embody the ASU Core Values of Integrity, Diversity & Inclusion, Significance, Community, and Commitment. Nominations can be submitted by students or faculty and should include a statement of at least 500 words explaining how the nominee lives through our core values.
Categorical Awards
This award goes to the academic organization that displays the academic excellence of Angelo State and its students. This organization preserves the academic merit of ASU and motivates its members to succeed in their field of study.
This award goes to the board or council that provides superior leadership and direction to its members. This organization provides its membership with guidance and support for initiatives both on-campus and off.
This organization allows ASU students to compete against other universities in non-NCAA sporting events. This award is given to an organization that is not only successful in competition, but also strives to uphold the integrity of ASU throughout the club’s competitive season. To nominate your organization for this award, please provide a résumé that includes: tournaments competed in, win/loss records, campus support, and any other pertinent information, as well as a 250-word essay describing why your organization should receive this award
This award goes to the fraternity or sorority that promotes Angelo State University in a genuine manner to its fellow students and to its national organization. This Greek organization must be in good standing with the university and exhibit good spirit and character throughout the year.
This award goes to the honor society that best recognizes academic excellence and leadership. This organization must have a cumulative GPA requirement of at least 3.0 among all its members.
This award goes to the multicultural/international student organization that displays a sincere dedication to multiculturalism. The organization will be selected based on its ability and willingness to educate students about various cultures by hosting events and celebrating their traditions.
This award goes to the service organization that has demonstrated its service to ASU and the San Angelo community. The organization will be selected based on its ability to provide ASU students with the opportunity to develop service leadership skills and engage in both campus and community development.
This award goes to the special interest organization that has demonstrated commitment to its purpose and mission through its activities and events for members at ASU and in the community. This organization provides an outlet for interests not typically addressed by other organizations.
This award goes to the spiritual life organization which promotes Angelo State University in a genuine manner to its fellow students and to the supporting spiritual community. This organization must be in good standing with the university and exhibit good spirit and character throughout the year.
Overall Student Organization Awards
This award recognizes the overall organization of the year. The organization must have demonstrated strong leadership, creativity, initiative and perseverance. This organization also must have made a meaningful contribution to ASU students, the university and the surrounding community.
This award recognizes the organization that has exhibited the most school spirit throughout the year. This organization has demonstrated “Ram Pride” and striven to enhance the campus community by supporting university programs, traditions and events, and its fellow student organizations.
This award recognizes the organization who has sought to serve not only Angelo State University, but the San Angelo community, as well. The organization will be selected based on contributions and participation.
This award goes to a student organization that is new to ASU this school year. The organization will be selected based on its development, leadership, advancement of members, ability to overcome obstacles, and contribution to the university and community.
