Greek Awards

Presented to a student with Academic Excellence that exemplifies the characteristics of a leader in the community, in his/her chapter, and at Angelo State. Classification should be the most current earned hours listed in RamPort.

Nominate a Student

This award will honor one outstanding organization and will be chosen by the individual chapters. Here is your chapter’s chance to recognize the outstanding fraternities and sororities at ASU. Criteria:

• Outstanding representation of the Greek Community
• Outstanding representation within the council
• Involved on campus and in the San Angelo community
• Inter-Greek relations
• Chapter programming
• Academics
• Great Greek spirit
• Overall outstanding chapter

Nominate a Chapter

This award is presented to the fraternity or sorority that best represents the Greek ideals of outstanding academics, community service/philanthropy, new member education/recruitment, social responsibility and involvement, inter-fraternalism and unity, campus and Greek involvement, and chapter leadership.

The Cole Stanley Memorial Service Award goes to the chapter that has made contributions to neighborhood, community, and charitable organizations during the year and has dedicated themselves to being good neighbors through community leadership and participation. This award was renamed in honor of Kappa Sigma member Cole Stanley for his continued involvement and dedication to philanthropic service.

Presented to an upper-class fraternity member based on their outstanding and continued service to the University, the Greek community and their organization. This person excels in academics, leadership, campus and community participation and personal character. They lead by example and live their ritual. This person exemplifies all that it means to be an ASU Greek member.

Nominate a Fraternity Member

Presented to a fraternity new member within the Greek community who exemplifies the highest ideals of membership, has already contributed greatly to his chapter as well as the Greek and local community, and exhibits great potential for future contributions to the Angelo State community.

Presented to a Greek Scholar Active Member that exemplifies the characteristics of a leader in the community, in his/her chapter, and at Angelo State. Classification should be the most current earned hours listed in Ramport.

Presented to the IFC fraternity chapter advisor that goes above and beyond his or her duties. Advisor may be faculty/staff or community member.

Nominate a Chapter Advisor

This award has been created in remembrance of Manny Rivas, a member of Kappa Sigma who passed away tragically in June 2015. This will be awarded to an undergraduate member who has proven to be a well-rounded individual. He/She is dedicated to developing him/herself, his/her chapter and the university as a whole. This person represents what it means to be Greek and is a true member of the Ram Family. He/She leads by example and motivates others to be better. He/She would go out of their way of others and genuinely cares for others.

The award is given to the chapter that displays high ideals in campus involvement and leadership beyond the Greek community.
