Faculty Classical Music Recital

Four members of Angelo State University’s music faculty will present an instrumental music recital on Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall and is open free to the public. Performers will include Dr. John Irish on trumpet, Dr. Steven Keniston on piano, Dr. Fagner Rocha on violin and Trent Shuey on marimba. 

The quartet will perform “Sonatina in G major for violin and piano” by classical Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, “About Escher for violin and marimba” by modern Spanish composer Mario Carro, and “Trio for Trumpet, Violin and Piano” by modern American composer Eric Ewazen. 

Irish is a professor of music and directs ASU’s brass ensembles. Keniston is an instructor of music at ASU. Rocha is an assistant professor of music and director of the ASU Symphony Orchestra. Shuey is an instructor of music and ASU’s assistant director of bands.
