Thursday, December 5, 2019 7:00pm Free
Join the ASU Concert Choir for its annual fall concert filled with Christmas carols, love songs and famous poetry.

The first section of the concert will consist of contemporary and traditional Christmas songs, including the 20th century American carol, “What Sweeter Music,” by Michael Fink, and the 14th century German carol, “In Dulci Jubilo.”

Between the two sections, the choir will perform “Choose Something Like a Star” by Randall Thompson that sets the famous Robert Frost poem by the same name.

The second half of the concert will include love songs by such composers as Eugene Butler, Gwyneth Walker and James McCray. The texts include poems by William Shakespeare and Percy Shelley, as well as verses from the Old Testament Song of Solomon.

The ASU Concert Choir is directed by Dr. Kevin Lambert, professor of music and interim director of choral activities. Accompanying the choir on piano will be Dr. Louellen Meyer, adjunct instructor of music. Both Lambert and Meyer also perform with the San Angelo Chamber Singers.
