The Lone Star Lecture Series: The Myth of the Mexican Nemesis in the 20th Century

The Second Annual Lone Star Lecture Series presents “The Myth of the Mexican Nemesis in the 20th Century” with Dr. Miguel A. Levario.

The Lone Star Lecture Series hosts outside scholars of Texas history to deliver a keynote address coinciding with the anniversary of Texas Independence in March of each year.

Dr. Miguel Levario Dr. Miguel Levario Dr. Levario’s talk will explore the history of the U.S.-Mexico borderlands to better understand the paradoxical position of static and fluidity. Moreover, the address will examine how the borderlands and its inhabitants have been seen as a threat to the rigid notions of government power and citizenship. 

Dr. Levario is an Associate Professor of US History and Program Coordinator of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies at Texas Tech University.
