Surl is an assistant professor in ceramics at Angelo State University, where he shares his passion for clay with students. Surl has a background as an interior designer and underwent a two-year apprenticeship under a renowned master in Korea. In the United States, he continues to explore the intricate world of ceramics, blending the traditional techniques of the East with the innovative approaches in the contemporary art world.
