Face-to-Face Book Club Discussion

  • Wednesday, January 31, 2024 3 - 4 p.m.
  • Porter Henderson Library, Room 225
  • Free

The Center for Digital Learning and Instruction is starting a book club for faculty. We’ve got an awesome read lined up for you: “Small Teaching Online: Applying Learning Science in Online Classes” by Flower Darby and James M. Lang.

This is a great opportunity for faculty from all departments to come together to discuss the concepts in the book and think about ways we might apply the ideas and strategies to enhance our own online teaching. Whether you teach fully online or use online elements, we are sure you’ll find value in the discussions.

Book Access

You can dive into the electronic version of the book for free!

Discussion

The first session of the Book Club will focus on Part I of the book: “Designing for Learning,” which focuses on backward course design, guiding learning through engagement, and using media and tools.
