Library Display: Battle of the Alamo

Wednesday, March 6, 2024 Free

In remembrance of the Battle of the Alamo, the library will feature books on this topic in a hands on display.

Just four days after the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence, the Alamo fell to General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. The emotions of this loss led to General Santa Anna’s defeat less than two months later at the Battle of San Jacinto with reports of General Sam Houston’s soldiers yelling “Remember the Alamo” during this battle. A phrase that lives with us to this day.

The Porter Henderson Library will “Remember the Alamo” today with a selected display of books on the first floor of the library. Please join us.
